Nowadays technology plays a very decisive role in the educational process and is an incentive for students. All EUROGNOSI teachers are familiar with the use of new technologies, which are actually an integral part of the contemporary lesson.

Skill Integration

EUROGNOSI advocates a holistic approach to foreign language learning. Skills are integrated so that students can communicate effectively. Emphasis is placed on: A) Task-based learning, an approach where students need to understand, produce and communicate in the foreign language B) Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), where language is taught alongside other content subjects.

Lesson Plans

There is an hourly lesson plan for every language and every level, so that teachers can successfully conduct their lessons throughout the year.

Online Curriculum Notebook

After every lesson, teachers complete a detailed account of what they taught so that the Director of Studies is aware of the content covered in the lesson.

Student Card

All students have their own student card which they sign for every hour of every lesson and are graded for each skill. Test scores and absences are also noted on the student card. Parents can monitor their children’s performance throughout the year.

Smart Start Study planner

All students have their own diary, where they can note down their homework. This way parents can supervise what sort of homework their children have for the next lesson and students can organise their work effectively.

Students’ Notebook

Students use their notebooks to note down exercises that have to complete at home (compositions – small paragraphs). This is another easy way to organise homework and monitor the development of the language learning process.

Parents’ day

Twice a year parents are invited to meet the teachers and Director of Studies, in order to be informed about their children’s progress.

Interactive board

A valued tool in the classroom that provides students with the opportunity to absorb information easily and encourages them to participate in group discussions and work in teams. The interactive board presents every educational source in a rather appealing way and makes learning fun for the students and teachers alike. It encourages critical thinking and maintains students’ attention throughout the lesson. Interactive boards are used in many educational situations, including those relating to students who respond to kinaesthetic as well as visual/auditory learning styles.

Digital classroom of the future

A pioneering interactive educational environment within the classroom of the future. The teacher uses the latest touch screen technology which is connected to tablets that are manipulated by students. Therefore we have an interactive, cross-curricular lesson with the assistance of technology that effectively supports learning by doing.

E-Blocks

E-Blocks is a unique method that emphasizes learning by doing. It is based on problem solving and activating all senses and movement but it is not about memorizing! Questions appear on the computer screen and students place the interactive blocks on the sensory panel to form answers, thus they participate actively and work together on cartoon stories, songs and games.

JUSTVOTE

An exclusive interactive response system for revision, which combines image-sound-question. Students answer by pressing a button on their remote control that corresponds to the correct answer and the system records the success rate and time needed to respond.

Skype Lessons

EUROGNOSI students have the opportunity to communicate with other EUROGNOSI students from Greece, Cyprus and Romania through Skype. Students can communicate orally and in writing. In other words, students use the language they learn in a real-life setting and communication becomes the epicenter of language teaching.

Global Education

It is the next step of the communicative approach in learning a foreign language that is supported by cross-curricular learning. Students are asked to complete tasks in English, utilizing specific tools and means.
